Wordless Wednesday – Australian Breakfast

by Rita Azar on January 29, 2013

We had a get together with family and friends for Australia Day, my first one as a permanent resident.

Here’s a few shots of our Australian breakfast.

The table before…

Hubby was the cook for the day.

And, I was the barista; I made that many hot chocolates and cappuccinos.

Everything was delicious!

Of course, the Vegemite was on the table…  But, not for me.

And, the sweets.

What did you do for Australia Day?

Love big breakfasts!! We had a very relaxed Australia Da this year. P.S. I have never acquired a taste for Vegemite – although two of my kids eat it :)

The taste is just terrible… I remember the first time hubby asked me to try it, I was horrified!

YUMMO – wish I was there for that, we had a very lazy quiet day, and cheated, and took the kids out for an Aussie Day buffet dinner! I want to dive into that coffee right now – No.3 being cheekier than a teenager’s bottom! :)

Congrats – and you even had vegemite on the table!

Good onya, Rita! Glad you enjoyed it! I don’t blame you for not liking the Vegemite. I’m not a fan either. We did an ordinary BBQ – burgers, snags, onions, salad. Sorry to disappoint Sam Kekovich, but we didn’t have any lamb. ;)

Haha! I’m sure your barbie was delicious even without the lamb Richard!

Love everything about this breakfast- although it is missing timtams. I spent Australia Day gurneying out water that had flooded my basement. Should have worn a Driz-a-bone

Rita Azar February 4, 2013 at 1:58 am

Yum for the timtams!
Sorry to hear about your basement… I hope it’s all sorted out now.

WOW amazing breakfast Rita! I love breakfast in summer outside in the garden with my friends. On my last visit to Australia, I had to leave 2 days before Australia Day and I missed this beautiful day. Your capuccino looks very tasty, I would like to take it from the picture…

You have to come back next year and stay longer…! At least for all the holidays and go back after Australia Day!

Cheers for your first Aussie day as a resident. You did it in style, you had more of an aussie breakfast than I did!
