The lovely Tracey over at Bliss Amongst Chaos posted on her Facebook page a few weeks ago a great idea: get a jar and write on a piece of coloured paper a note every time something good happen this year. Fold the piece of paper and put it into the jar. At the end of the year, open the jar and remember all the good memories of the past months.
I liked the idea; I thought it was a good way to remember the beautiful things life can bring us and remain positive toward the bad ones.
I found an old coffee jar I had at home and decorated it with some stickers.
I have already started to write my notes on paper flowers I had from scrapbooking.
I’ve been also thinking about two words for 2013 and I finally found them:
Hope & Faith
Do you have a jar of good things or something similar?
What are your words for 2013?

So glad you liked the idea….I did too!
I love your jar! It looks so pretty with all the stickers all over it. Love the paper flowers as well.
Your jar is going to look wonderful by the end of the year with all of the good things piled into it!
xx
Thanks for the idea Tracey!
I love your words! My word last year was Hope and this year’s is Faith. Great minds think alike!
And I saw that jar idea floating around facebook somewhere! Really should do that here, too! x Aroha
Wow! Indeed, great minds think alike!
oh a jar of good things!!! Love it!! I have a jar ready for a coin a week – so I can save some money for Christmas
That’s a very good idea too!
Great words, and very cool jar – I’ve been meaning to take on board the ‘jar’ idea – must make a note so I don’t forget again
It’s such a “feel good” idea!
I like your words for 2013. Still working on mine.
The jar is a great idea.
That is a great idea! I know I tend to forget the good things… keeping a record is a simple way to be reminded, and pretty paper in a pretty jar makes it just that little bit more special. Nice one!
Me too, I tend to forget them and remember only things that made me unhappy. The jar is now on my desk and I see it every day and it makes me smile.
Good idea! I have to do it with real leaves! I can use the maple leaf (there is a lot of them in Canada). I can keep some in the fall. When they are dry, I can write on them every month untill the end of the year.
Wow! That’s a really good idea! So artistic and eco friendly! You can do it for next year…
Love the idea Rita, I have a little journal that I write in to remind me of all those good things we forget throughout the year, Hope and Faith are great words for this year…
I love the idea of the journal. Since I started the blog, I don’t write anymore in mine.
What a great idea Rita
And I love your words too, will get thinking on mine xo
Oh, that’s a fantastic idea! I might start doing it too! Love the pretty paper you’re using, Rita!
Thanks Grace!
Very pretty!
It’s a wonderful idea Rita! I love the jar you made x
I posted this idea on FB too thanks for reminding me Rita !
Thanks for linking up.
After this post, I discovered that a few people had posted the idea.
Thanks for hosting Trish!
I love this Rita! A friend’s daughter has just started this project too
That is an awesome idea and i like how you decorated the jar – simple and upbeat. I might actually try this with the kids to help them recognise all the good things that do happen and encourage them to reflect on the positives rather than the negatives.
I think it’s a very good idea to do with the kids Kirsty!
What a great idea!
This is a really great idea! I love your paper flowers, too. I think you know my words for this year. Go with the flow. If that fails, breathe
I love your words Alarna!
A lovely idea. Your jar looks just beautiful.
That’s a lovely idea. Must do something similar.
Thanks for hosting Bree!
That is a fantastic idea. Especially great to lift one through a rough patch or sadness
Absolutely!
You have very good ideas. My words for this year 2013 are: Go ahead and never abandon.
These are really great words!
