Two quick DIY Christmas decoration

Christmas decoration 1

Yesterday, I did some Christmas craft.  I had already some little Christmas balls I never used and thought I could create something with them this year.  I ended up doing a Christmas garland and some Christmas ornaments.

For the garland you will need:

- Mini bows

- Festive ribbon

- Christmas balls

How to make the garland:

- First, insert two Christmas balls in the tie at the back of the bow and secure the tie around the balls;

- Then, attach the tie around the ribbon;

- Cut the bow a little bit so you can see the balls.

I used the garland to decorate my mantelpiece.

For the Christmas ornament you will need:

- Jewellery wire

- Bows

- Christmas balls

How to make the Christmas ornament:

- Cut the wire at approximately 15 cm.  Insert the Christmas balls at the end of the wire and turn the wire around them to secure;

- Bring back the other end of the wire making a circle and turn again the wire around the top of the Christmas balls;

- Attach a bow and cut the bow to show the Christmas balls.

I used this ornament to decorate the handles on my buffet.

Love that garland! Looks so great on your mantel! I was just checking out your christmas tree post as well, your train is so cool – no chance of me having anything that nice with my crazy 18mo around. It would be broken in 2 seconds!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Haha! I know, when I will have kids I think I will have to relocate the train to a place out of reach for children!

Oh, Stacey-Lee, I’m looking forward to read about what you did with your children. For some reason, I’m not sleeping well these days too… Perhaps the stress surrounding this period of the year…

I love your craft ideas – so simple but so effective. I love the garland in particular. We have those same decorations (spooky!) – perhaps the kids will be interested in helping me make one as we near the start of the long summer holiday? Thanks for sharing Rita!

Thank you Kirsty! Haha! Spooky indeed! The idea of doing this decoration just came out of my head and I was also tired of seeing these Christmas balls every year and not using them!
